Sell Your Old Phone

Sell Your Old Phone Directly to a Buyer

Set your own price, post in about a minute and chat with buyers near you without sharing your number. No commission on the sale, so the whole amount is yours.

Your Options

Two Ways to Sell an Old Phone

Both are fair choices. They suit different people.

Instant-Buy Sites and Exchange Offers

You get a quote online and a pickup, or money off a new phone. The buyer sets the price after checking the phone.

Good if: you want it gone today and don’t mind their price.

Selling to a Person on SUP

You set the price, chat with buyers near you and agree the deal yourself. It can take a little longer, and you decide who you sell to.

Good if: you want to set your own price and meet the buyer.

Before You Sell

Get Your Phone Ready to Sell

Ten minutes now protects your data and makes the handover smooth.

  • Back up your photos, chats and contacts.
  • Sign out of your Google account, or Apple ID with Find My turned off.
  • Take out your SIM and memory card.
  • Factory reset the phone once everything is backed up.
  • Note the IMEI (dial *#06#) so the buyer can match it to the box and bill.
  • Find the bill, box and charger if you still have them. Buyers trust phones that come with them.

Pricing

How to Set a Fair Price

A fair price sells faster than a high one with a lot of “negotiable”.

Compare Recent Ads

Look at Ads for the same model and storage near you, and price yours honestly against them.

Be Honest About Condition

Battery health, scratches, repairs and warranty all change the price. Say them in the Ad.

Leave Room for Offers

Mark the Ad negotiable and buyers can send you a number. You accept, counter or decline.

Posting

Post It in About a Minute

Everything you need, in the order the app asks for it.

  1. Add clear photos: front, back, sides and the screen switched on.
  2. Write a title with the model, storage and colour, like “iPhone 13, 128 GB, Blue”.
  3. Set your price and choose Owner.
  4. Post it. A person checks it, usually within eight hours, and then buyers can see it.

Selling

Meet and Get Paid Safely

Meet in a busy public place and let the buyer test calls, camera and charging. Take cash, or check the UPI payment in your own app before you hand the phone over. Never scan a QR code to receive money.

How to Spot a Selling Scam

Selling an iPhone?

Turn off Find My iPhone and sign out of your Apple ID before you reset it, or the buyer won’t be able to use it. Check battery health in Settings and mention it in the Ad.

Phone Not Working?

You can still sell it. Say exactly what’s wrong, like a cracked screen or a phone that won’t charge, and price it for repair or parts. Honest Ads get serious buyers.

Buying a Second Hand Mobile?

Check the IMEI matches the box and bill, test calls, camera, speakers and charging, and make sure it’s signed out of the previous owner’s account before you pay.

Questions About Selling a Phone

Is It Free to Sell My Phone on SUP?

Yes. Posting is free and SUP takes no commission, so whatever you agree with the buyer is what you get.

Will Buyers See My Phone Number?

No. Buyers chat with you inside SUP. You share your number only if and when you choose to.

Can I Sell a Phone That Isn’t Working?

Yes. Describe the fault honestly in the Ad and price it for repair or parts. Plenty of people buy phones to fix or for spares.

Will I Get More Than on an Instant-Buy Site?

We can’t promise that. The difference is that on SUP you set the price and agree it with a buyer yourself, while instant-buy sites set the price for you in exchange for speed.

Your Old Phone Could Be Someone’s Next One
